Veggie Burger recipe (Main Dish)

Ingredients

Yield: 6 burgers

3 cups cooked lentils
1 cup plain bread crumbs
3   egg whites
1 cup fresh spinach, cooked and finely chopped
½ cups chopped carrots cooked
½ cups chopped green onion
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz.)
1 teaspoon salt
0.12 teaspoons peppper
1 tablespoon olive oil
8   whole wheat buns

Instructions

Combine lentils, bread crumbs, egg whites, spinach, carrots, onion, Cheddar cheese, salt and pepper in a bowl. Shape into 6 equal patties. Place on a baking sheet. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet. Add burgers, cook 6 minutes turning over once halfway through cooking.

place burgers on buns and garnish.
